Ten Life Changing Tips

Life changes do not have to be big to have long-term positive results. Actually making many small changes over time give outstanding results. Of course this is only true if you continue to embrace the small changes. They should not be one-time events but changes that continue today, tomorrow and next year.

A list of some small changes that you can make today and work into your routine:

1. Eat a handful of walnuts: walnuts contain compounds that lower LDL (bad) cholesterol and may even help reverse damaged arteries

2. Stand Up: Standing up is good for us. It is non-exercise but still burns more calories than sitting. Stand when making a phone call, stand while preparing dinner, instead of sitting to peel potatoes and so forth.

3. Turn down the heat: Keeping your home between 65 and 68 degrees helps you to get a good night’s sleep and feel energized in the morning.

4. Accumulate experiences not stuff: Spending you money on things like classes or travel produce much more long-term satisfaction that accumulating things.

5. Wear sun block: Protect your skin from UVA and UVB rays is a life long gift to yourself, It doesn’t matter what season it is, sun block is always right.

6. Declutter your living area: A lot of visual “noise” produces stress. An open area is soothing and brings serenity.

7. Show gratitude: Say thank you and please. The lessons we learned in kindergarten are still valid. Being grateful helps you keep a positive mindset and focus less on negativity,

8. Don’t dial your cell phone while driving: When you are behind the wheel 100% of your attention needs to be on your driving. Your life and my life depend on it.
